We are expanding our team and looking for creative Public Relations Account Managers to join us in amplifying the stories of African Innovators and make a difference through storytelling.
About the Job
As a Public Relations Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for managing and nurturing client relationships, developing and implementing PR strategies, and ensuring the successful execution of PR campaigns. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to achieve communication goals and enhance the clients' public image.
Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1. Develop, implement, and manage effective PR campaigns that align with client objectives.
2. Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, making adjustments as needed.
3. Build and maintain relationships with media professionals.
4. Pitch client stories, press releases, and other relevant content to secure media coverage as well as
monitor media coverage and respond to inquiries.
5. Create positive news coverage about clients or products with clients and media on a daily basis to come
up with news content, researching, drafting, and issuing press releases to the news media and blogs.
6. Building strong relationships with clients, the media, and other employees in the company
Influencer Management.
7. Coordinate and manage PR events, product launches, and press conferences. Oversee logistics,
media attendance, and post-event coverage.
8. Constantly monitoring the news media, social media, and blogs to find new opportunities for clients
as well as stay updated with trends.
9. Working with the accounts team to craft client proposals and help implement PR activities.
10. Creating client reports post-campaign.
11. Monitor and manage budgets for PR campaigns ensuring that campaigns are cost effective and
deliver measurable results.
12. Contributing to company media accounts- Blogs and Social media accounts as well as liaising with
graphics team when required.
13. Attending client meetings and preparing reports for clients.
14. Putting together Communication strategies for clients.
15. Research and writing, brand narratives, and stories.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in PR account management or a similar role (3-4 years).
- In-depth knowledge of public relations and client service.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with media outlets and industry trends.
- Great crisis communication experience.
- Strong relationship building and networking skills.
- Commendable emotional and interpersonal intelligence skills.
- Ability to speak and understand French fluently will be an added advantage
