5th August 2021; Jobberman, the single largest online job placement portal in sub-Saharan Africa, has partnered up with one of the leading Nigerian tertiary institutions, The University of Lagos, to train and upskill students in job-ready and digital skills.
The partnership intends to focus on youth development components and offer career guidance and personalized HR solutions for undergraduates of the institution.
This partnership aligns with the Jobberman x Mastercard foundations efforts to train 5 million young Nigerians and place 3 million in dignified work over the next five years. Jobberman’s Communications Manager, Sheila Ojei, representing the CEO, Ms Rolake Rosiji, expressed her delight at the opportunity to partner with the University on job creation, skill acquisition and training. She averred that the partnership aligns with Jobberman’s mission to upskill and connect young people to their dream jobs and help employers get the best talent to help grow their businesses.
She added that “Jobberman is keen on greatly contributing its expertise in producing work-ready graduates’, we might not be able to change the future for our youths but the least we can do is train our youths to be prepared for the future”.
In her remarks, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services), Prof. Ayodele Atsenuwa, thanked the company for believing in the UNILAG brand. She said the University seeks to achieve its Entrepreneurship goals by partnering with several organisations to sponsor programs that can motivate and ignite latent creativity, entrepreneurial interests and develop relevant business skills.
The Director of Entrepreneurship Skills and Development Centre, Dr Sunday Adebisi and his deputy, Dr Ayodele Shittu, were also present during the signing of the agreement.
