Accountant and Financial Officer

Responsibilities:

• Handle accounting functions related to procurement and export of Agro-commodities
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and reconciliation of accounts.
• Maintain and monitor procurement/export transactions in compliance with accounting policies and statutory requirements.
• Prepare (daily, weekly, and end-of-month) financial status reports
• Collaborate with the trade team to ensure proper processing of documentation
• Fact-checking invoices for payment, processing, and refunds
• Summarize financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports
• Prepare monthly financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
• Provide support and insights on any accounting-related matters concerning agro-trading
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for business unit
• Check and verify vendor bills before making payment advise
• Assist in risk management and oversee payroll processing.
• Perform other functions as assigned by the management

Requirements:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) is preferable.
• Minimum 4 years experience in the export and import of Agro-Commodities
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and standard knowledge (of financial modeling and budgeting)
• Solid Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and financial management
• In-depth knowledge of banking procedures related to export and import (including NXP, Form M, Form A etc.)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Must be reliable, trustworthy, and required to work with minimum supervision

Location: Ekiti 

Remuneration: NGN 400,000
