Accountant

Responsibilities:

Financial Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate and detailed financial records of the hotel's transactions, including revenues, expenses, and assets.

Budget Management:

• Prepare, monitor, and manage the hotel's budget, ensuring financial goals and targets are met.

Revenue Auditing:

• Audit daily revenue reports, verify cash deposits, and ensure all income is correctly recorded and reported.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

• Manage accounts payable by processing invoices and ensuring timely payments. Oversee accounts receivable by tracking and collecting outstanding payments.

Payroll Processing:

• Handle payroll calculations, ensure timely and accurate payments to employees, and maintain related records.

Tax Compliance:

• Prepare and file tax returns, ensure compliance with tax regulations, and handle any tax-related inquiries or audits.

Financial Reporting:

• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management and stakeholders.

Cost Control:

• Monitor and analyse costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement measures to control expenses.

Internal Controls:

• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard the hotel's assets and ensure the accuracy of financial information.

Financial Analysis:

• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, identify trends, and provide insights into the hotel's financial performance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) are often preferred
• Proven work experience in accounting or a related financial role
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and provide insights.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial record-keeping and reporting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with management, clients, and regulatory bodies
• Strong ethical standards and integrity to handle sensitive financial information responsibly
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
