Job Description/Requirements
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual results against budgets and provide variance analysis.
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Implement recommendations from audits to improve processes.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, payment processing, and collections.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial data.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and adjustments.
- Provide financial advice and support to other departments, helping them understand financial reports and the implications of their decisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred.
- Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- High level of accuracy in managing and reporting financial information.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, especially during busy periods such as month-end and year-end.
