Job Summary

We seek a self-starter with strong attention to detail and analytical skills to join our family office as an Analyst. The Analyst will actively be involved and work across our various workstreams, including venture capital, Real Estate, Agriculture, Oil and Gas, and Financial Services. The ideal candidate will analyze financial opportunities, manage existing assets, work with partners to identify new investment opportunities, and develop new business lines. This role requires a solid financial analysis, asset management, and business development foundation. The main objective of this role is to bring real and sustained value to the firm and our portfolio companies. As an Analyst, you will gain significant exposure to all aspects of private company investing within a small team. The role necessitates a strong sense of self-motivation and quantitative skills.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Market Research & Analysis:

  • Conduct market research and industry analysis to identify potential investment opportunities.
  • Analyze potential investment sectors and assess their viability and alignment with the family’s goals.


Due Diligence & Evaluation:

  • Evaluate startup business models, financial statements, and growth potential.
  • Perform due diligence, including market sizing, competitive analysis, and management team assessments.


Investment Management:

  • Oversee and manage the family’s existing investment portfolio.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of various assets, ensuring they meet financial objectives.
  • Develop strategies to optimize asset performance and mitigate risks.


Investment Documentation:

  • Prepare investment memos and presentations for review by the investment team.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on financial findings for the family and senior management.


Portfolio Support:

  • Monitor portfolio companies and support them with strategic advice and operational improvements.
  • Facilitate relationships between the portfolio companies.


Business Development:

  • Identify and evaluate new business lines and ventures that align with the family’s interests.
  • Assist in incubating and developing new business ideas, from concept to execution.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support the growth and success of new initiatives.


Partner Collaboration:

  • Establish relationships with investment partners, advisors, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions to evaluate potential collaborations and joint ventures.
  • Negotiate terms and agreements to secure favorable outcomes for the family office.


Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct financial analysis and modeling for potential investment opportunities, with a focus on real estate opportunities
  • Evaluate the financial performance of existing assets and provide recommendations for improvement.


Operations:

  • Drive projects as needed by coordinating with contractors, accountants, lawyers, and other service providers as needed


Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the deal documentation process
  • Organize meetings and summarize call notes
  • Assist employees with first-level AV and conference call setup


Minimum Requirements:

  • The candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a highly rated university, with at least a second-class upper division or higher.
  • A strong passion for investing, building, and operating businesses. This is not simply an investing role! It requires significant operational support
  • 2-4 years experience as an Analyst.
  • Background in financial services, consulting, etc.
  • A strong sense of urgency and self-motivation to work autonomously
  • Limitless curiosity about business models and understanding of how companies make money
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Remuneration: NGN 300,000 - 500,000 Monthly Gross
