The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving growth and expanding the company's client base within the engineering and architecture consulting sector. This role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and developing strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the industry, excellent communication and networking skills, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Market Research & Opportunity Identification: 

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and emerging business opportunities.
  • Analyze industry trends and competitor activities to develop strategic business development plans.
  • Identify and qualify leads through networking, industry events, and online research.


Client Relationship Management: 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Understand client needs and develop tailored solutions to meet their requirements.   
  • Provide exceptional client service and ensure client satisfaction.


Proposal Development & Presentations: 

  • Develop compelling proposals and presentations that effectively communicate the company's value proposition.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.
  • Present proposals to clients and negotiate contracts.


Networking & Industry Engagement: 

  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and generate leads.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry associations and key influencers.
  • Represent the company at client meetings and industry events.


Sales & Business Development Strategy: 

  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve sales targets.
  • Track and report on business development activities and results.
  • Continue the development of marketing materials and campaigns.


Partnership Development: 

  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships with other companies.
  • Manage partner relationships to maximize business opportunities.


CRM Management: 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the company's CRM system.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in the engineering or architecture consulting industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing successful business relationships.
  • Strong understanding of the engineering and architecture consulting industry.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
