Job Summary
Obitek Nigeria Limited seeks a highly calculative, smart and efficient cashier to receive payments, issue receipts, keep track of all cash and credit transactions with 100% accuracy and constantly implement new systems to reduce errors and bring about reliability.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
Phone etiquette
Skilled in loss prevention
Ensure pricing is correct
Product and inventory knowledge
Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
Collect payments whether in cash, transfer, or POS
Issue receipts and change
Track inventory
Stay current on promotions, discounts, or special offers
Redeem stamps and coupons
Cross-sell products and introduce new ones
Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information
Greet customers when entering or leaving the store
Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies
Bag, box or gift-wrap packages
Handle merchandise returns and exchanges
Makes sales referrals, cross-sells products and introduces new items
Perform other duties as assigned/required by the accountant
Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information
Maintain clean and tidy checkout area
Willingness to displace patience in the face of all types of customer interaction
Requirements:
- Minimum of OND/HND or BSC in related fields.
- Must be computer literate.
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in using accounting software.
- Demonstrated integrity.
- Strong time management skills.
- Active listening and interpersonal skills.
- Good product knowledge.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Dependable and flexible.
- Friendly with good communication skills.
- Ability to build customer loyalty.
- Familiarity with financial and customer service principles.
- Good math skills, capable of creating and analyzing reports, spreadsheets, and sales statistics.
- Proficient user of MS Office (especially MS Excel).
- Strong initiative, time management, and stress management skills.
- Problem-solving attitude.
- Work experience as a Retail Cashier or in a similar sales role.
- Basic PC knowledge.
- Familiarity with electronic equipment such as cash registers and POS systems.
- Efficient and able to multitask.
- Skilled in conflict resolution.
- Hardworking with a focus on loss prevention.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Customer-focused and friendly with excellent customer service skills.
- Possesses basic math skills and is aware and alert at all times.
- Patient and able to handle any situation calmly and confidently.
