Job Summary
As the Commercial Manager, you will oversee and drive the brand's commercial activities, ensuring the achievement of revenue, sales, and market expansion goals in the Chemicals, Raw materials, Ingredients, and Commodities (CRIC) market. You will develop innovative strategies to penetrate new markets, expand customer and supplier base, and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders to ensure market dominance and revenue growth.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and execute a robust market development strategy to drive growth in the CRIC market.
- Identify and prioritize growth opportunities through market analysis and strategic planning.
- Drive revenue growth by setting aggressive yet achievable targets for sales and commercial operations.
- Build and manage a portfolio of profitable customers and transactions through strong relationships with reliable partners.
- Manage existing vendors as well as create a pipeline for continuous onboarding of qualified vendors.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, fostering relationships with key industry stakeholders, manufacturers, government agencies, and partners.
Sales and Business Development:
- Build and manage a high-performing team to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Design and implement sales strategies to capture new markets, expand the brand's footprint, and retain top-tier customers.
- Drive customer acquisition strategies to increase market share, fostering long-term partnerships with reliable clients.
- Oversee the end-to-end sales cycle, from prospecting to deal closure, ensuring seamless execution and that sales targets are met.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key customers, vendors, and industry stakeholders to enhance customer loyalty and business opportunities.
- Manage and close TF transactions and projects, directing the activities of the commercial planner on the subject matter (subject to an approved project value).
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align commercial activities with business objectives and maximize outcomes.
Marketing and Market Intelligence:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to design and execute innovative campaigns that enhance brand visibility and market reach.
- Ensure alignment of marketing initiatives with commercial objectives to drive lead generation and customer engagement.
- Conduct regular market analysis to identify trends, emerging markets, customer preferences, and competitive dynamics, adjusting strategies accordingly.
- Use insights to refine product offerings, pricing strategies, and value propositions.
- Monitor regulatory changes and advise on their potential impact on business operations.
Operational Excellence:
- Streamline commercial operations to ensure efficiency and scalability.
- Establish systems and processes to optimize quality, cost-efficiency, and on-time delivery of products and services.
- Coordinate cross-departmental efforts to ensure seamless alignment in meeting commercial goals.
- Customer Experience and Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, resolving issues and ensuring the delivery of superior service.
- Expand Matta’s client base by diversifying customer portfolios and entering new market segments.
- Introduce mechanisms to measure and enhance the overall customer experience and drive loyalty.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for growth and improvements.
- Conduct training sessions to build team capacity in sales, negotiations, and market dynamics.
- Encourage innovation and collaboration within the team to achieve exceptional results.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Develop and present regular performance reports to the Chief Commercial Officer and management to inform decision-making and strategic direction.
- Use objectives and key results (OKRs) to track progress against business goals and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Business Administration or Marketing or considerable related background.
- The role holder should have extensive business development experience with a background in Chemistry but with an enshrined knowledge of business management.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a commercial management role. Minimum of 3 years managing a team.
- Proven track record of success in B2B sales, business development, and operations and navigating challenging markets.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent and proven project management skills.
- Good numerical and analytics skills.
- Result and quality orientation with an eye for detail to ensure excellent accuracy of work.
- Excellent written skills and attention to detail – the ability to express complex commercial issues simply and coherently is essential.
