Job Summary
As a Commodity Trader - Manager, you will be responsible for identifying trading opportunities, managing risks, and maximizing profitability while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders as well as managing the buying and selling of commodities such as metals, energy, agricultural products and other raw materials.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Analyze market trends, price movements, and supply-demand factors to identify trading opportunities.
- Execute commodity trades (buy/sell) in line with market conditions and the company's trading strategies.
- Develop and implement hedging strategies to mitigate risks.
- Conduct in-depth research on market conditions, geopolitical factors, weather patterns, and economic indicators affecting commodity prices.
- Monitor and report on price volatility, market liquidity, and future supply/demand projections.
- Monitor exposure to market risks, including price, credit, and liquidity risks.
- Use financial derivatives such as futures, options, and swaps to hedge positions.
- Manage position limits and ensure compliance with risk management policies.
- Maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, brokers, and financial institutions.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts for the supply or purchase of commodities.
- Provide clients with insights on market movements and trading opportunities.
- Ensure all trades comply with relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Work closely with logistics, finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of trades.
- Liaise with commercial and logistics teams to monitor the physical delivery of commodities.
- Maintain accurate records of trades, positions, and relevant documentation.
- Prepare regular reports on trading performance and market outlook for management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in commodity trading, preferably in (a specific commodity, e.g., oil, metals, or agricultural products).
- Experience in trading across multiple commodities.
- Familiarity with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations in commodity markets.
- Strong understanding of commodity markets, trading platforms, and hedging strategies.
- Knowledge of financial derivatives, including futures, options, and swaps.
- Proficiency in trading software, such as Bloomberg, Reuters, or similar platforms.
- Ability to analyze large amounts of data and make sound trading decisions under pressure.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills to maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Proficiency in managing risks and applying hedging techniques.
- Meticulous in tracking trades, compliance, and documentation.
- Ability to collaborate with various internal and external teams effectively.
