Electrical Service Engineer - Power Generation

Responsibilities:

• Perform advanced diagnostics, testing, and electrical equipment repair, including generators, transformers, switchgear, and control systems 
• Analyze and resolve electrical faults, ensuring minimal downtime 
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems for new projects or upgrades
• Verify the performance and reliability of systems against design specifications 
• Participate in electrical service projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget
• Coordinate with the direct manager and other departments, vendors, and contractors to achieve project  goals 
• Ensure all electrical systems comply with local, national, and international standards
• Promote and enforce workplace safety protocols, ensuring all work adheres to HSE standards
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, inspections, and system performance
• Prepare detailed technical reports and recommendations for improvements 
• Maintain good communication skills, get information, process information, and give feedback
• Provide professional assistance to expatriate electricians during all kinds of service-related jobs
• Ensure availability of parts and supplies by assessing jobs and determining spare parts/assemblies that  are needed for the job 
• Ensure all tools provided in the assigned toolbox is complete and kept clean at all times
• Observe all health and safety regulations in accordance with the comapny and client’s safety policies and manuals
• Perform all work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety and environmental regulations
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with  provided instructions 
• Any other job assigned by your Supervisor

Requirements:

• Must possess a degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is an advantage 
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3 years in a power generation environment 
• Proven track record in troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical systems
• Expertise in low and medium voltage systems, protection relays, PLCs, and SCADA systems, Generator  Controllers, e.g., Woodward, ECMs, DIEF, Deepsea, etc 
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IEEE, IEC, NEC)
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities 
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Willingness to travel to various sites as required 
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
