Job Summary

We are looking to hire a suitable candidate to fill this position. The Facility Manager will maintain, organize, and improve our facilities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our lab and overall facility. In this role, will work closely with scientists, engineers, managers, and all relevant individuals, in a collaborative manner.

  • Minimum Qualification : MBA / MSc
  • Experience Level : Mid level
  • Experience Length : 2 years

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the infrastructure at all the facilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment per manufacturer’s schedule and directives
  • Ensure all instrument and equipment, are at optimum performance
  • Assist with testing and qualification of equipment
  • Organize and develop long-term plans for storage, inventory and facility management
  • Maintain high safety procedures across all facilities and ensures every member of staff adheres to all safety rules.
  • Audit facilities and processes as required to ensure that facilities are safe for employees, to avoid any form of occupational hazard.
  • Work with other teams on project planning, facility updates and safety evaluations
  • Set up test fixtures and testing areas per project needs
  • Engage with third parties for shipping, logistics, and off-site storage needs
  • Oversees the management of waste collection and disposal across all facilities
  • Utilize proven employee management solutions to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Establish and improve procedures and processes by addressing issues and risks
  • Timely escalation to Line Manager, issues that cannot be resolved.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the Line Manager, from time to time, in the course of work and furtherance of the Company’s strategic objectives.


Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification (B.Sc. or B.Eng.) in biologic field, life sciences, Bioengineering.
  • 2 - 3 years’ cognate work experience in facility operations experience in the biotech industry, life sciences industry, or other regulated industry.
  • Certificate(s) in Health, Safety and Environment would be an added advantage
  • Demonstrate an understanding of regulatory compliance and good documentation practices as well as Organization and time management skills
  • Experience with MS office and critical thinking skill

  • Knowledge of Relevant Safety Processes and Procedure
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office package
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent Communication skills – written, verbal and non-verbal
  • Attention to details.
