Our client is an energy company specialising in oil, gas and power situated in Abuja. It seeks to recruit a Finance & Accounts Manager who will assist the Head of the Finance and Accounts Department in creating timely and accurate financial information.
The manager will also report to the Head of the Finance and Accounts Department, his/her primary responsibilities include book keeping and preparation of monthly financial statements, using QuickBooks Accounting Software, and maintaining files for supporting documents and communications regarding accounting activities.
Responsibilities
Providing financial reports and interpreting financial information to the directorate while recommending further courses of action. Advising on investment activities and providing strategies that the organisation should take Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the organisation’s actual performance compared to the business plans. Develop trends and projections for the organisation’s finances. Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities. Oversee the operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for meeting them. Manage the preparation of the organisation’s budget and cash flow statements Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of organisation finances is maintained. Analyze financial and fiscal data to prepare both financial reports and statements Participate in board shareholders' meetings. Recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process using QuickBooks Desktop Accounting software. Maintaining schedules for statements of financial position, keeping general ledger accounts, preparing bank reconciliation statements and reconciling related parties' balances. Ensuring deductions and prompt remittance of various statutory deductions. Verify and ensure timely payment of vendor invoices and payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Assisting with preparing supporting schedules and documents needed for external audits. Create, send, and follow up on invoices. Any other duties that may be assigned by management. Academic Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting and Economics or related degrees. Msc or MBA in accounting, finance or related degree is an added advantage. Professional membership of ICAN or ACCA is required Experience
10 years’ experience in Finance, accounting in a fast paced or high-volume organisation. Experience in the oil and gas industry is an added advantage. Ability to communicate at all levels. A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles. Proficiency in Accounting software’s (QuickBooks). Strong interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations The key competences and proficiency levels required for the position.
