Job Summary

We are looking to hire an experienced Finance Manager to join our team/lead the company from a financial outlook. The Finance Manager will take ownership of all company fiscal and regulatory matters and be responsible for the financial and risk management operations of our company. The Finance Manager shall be responsible for developing and implementing Financial Plans, ensuring the Company’s financial objectives are well understood and executed by Senior Managers. This function includes driving and monitoring the achievement of Operational Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), inspiring action to achieve set targets, and aligning systems and processes to maximize the Company’s performance capacity and outcomes for all stakeholders. The candidate must possess extensive local and international experience in leading Financial and Strategic Planning, Budgeting, and Corporate Finance.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • To provide timely, accurate, and relevant financial information to aid management in decision-making
  • To supervise the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing
  • To manage the effective reporting of monthly management information and reports, quarterly financial statements, board information, and performance versus the budget
  • To ensure timely and accurate preparation of the company’s financial statements, in line with relevant statutory requirements / International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • To identify risks and financial implications of projects and initiatives within the company, advise the CEO and Management accordingly
  • Shall ensure robust planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the company
  • Shall assist with high-level decisions about policy and strategy
  • Shall oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing / supervise financial reporting and budgeting team
  • To ensure that legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
  • To identify and address financial risks and opportunities for the company
  • Shall review financial reports for ways to reduce costs
  • Shall brainstorm with the CEO, CFO, DMD, CMO, CSO , CAO, and COO to develop the company’s strategic plan
  • To develop and implement Operational Plans, ensuring ELP’s strategic objectives are well understood and executed by all staff members
  • To monitor and review Operational KPIs to ensure ELP’s strategic objectives are met
  • Shall manage the company’s financial planning
  • To plan and perform risk management duties
  • Shall analyze and manage the organization’s liabilities and investments
  • To plan, implement, and manage investment strategies
  • Shall manage fundraising plans and capital structure
  • Shall track and ensure cash flow is appropriate and sustainable
  • To supervise finance personnel
  • Shall manage and retain relationships with various vendors


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a finance role
  • Adequate financial and accounting knowledge, including understanding of finance best practices, and international and Nigerian financial and accounting reporting standards;
  • Must possess knowledge of IFRS.
  • Relevant professional finance or accounting certification e.g. ACA, ICAN /ACCA, CIMA, CFA would be a plus.


Skills & Experience:

  • Must have a strong finance or accounting background, including an understanding of profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow management, corporate finance & budgeting
  • Shall possess Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel and Financial Modelling
  • Must have experience with corporate governance
  • Shall possess proven negotiating skills
  • Must demonstrate effectiveness in achieving organizational objectives in relation to practice, safety, quality, and risk management in an agribusiness environment
  • Must understand the relevant laws and regulations
  • Must have a clear understanding of the professional, ethical, legal, and industrial responsibilities relevant to the position
  • Shall possess the ability to inspire confidence and create trust
  • Shall possess the ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively, and delegate
  • Shall possess excellent knowledge of corporate financial law
  • Hands-on experience with risk management
  • Hands-on experience with financial management software
  • Must have excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Must be a problem solver and critical thinker
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be a good team player


Others:

  • Must be legally able to work in Nigeria
  • Should be ready to travel across the States regularly.


Remuneration: NGN 15 Million Gross + Health Insurance
