We are looking to hire a Head of Application / DB Security who will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of applications and databases within the organization. This role involves developing and implementing security strategies that protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, breaches, and other cyber threats.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies for applications and databases to protect sensitive data
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential risks in application and database environments.
- Oversee the design and implementation of security controls such as encryption, access management, and authentication mechanisms
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate secure coding practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Monitor application and database security incidents, conducting investigations and coordinating incident response efforts
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to data protection (e.g., NDPC).
- Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices for application and database security.
- Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends in application and database security.
- Prepare reports on the status of application and database security initiatives for senior management.
- Collaborate with external vendors and partners to enhance application and database security measures.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in application security, database security, or related fields within a cybersecurity environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in secure coding practices, knowledge of database management systems (DBMS), familiarity with application security tools (e.g., static/dynamic analysis tools), and understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as OWASP Top Ten.
- Certifications: Key certifications include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Application Security Engineer (CASE), which validate expertise in application and database security practices.
