Job Summary

The Internal Control Officer is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of the company's internal control systems to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and enhance operational efficiency. This role involves identifying areas of financial and operational risks, implementing control processes, and monitoring compliance with regulatory policies.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adequate compliance with the company’s established standards and internal control procedures in your branch.
  • Ensure on a weekly and monthly basis and in line with the company’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) that warehouse stocks are confirmed at the branch level on time.
  • Carry out a contentious closing stock taking of all the sales representatives on a daily basis and report any irregularity discovered to your superior/senior internal control officer immediately and ensure all the company’s assets in the branch is highly safeguarded and controlled.
  • You are to report to the senior internal control officer.
  • Cross checking and balancing cash register, make sure that all cash received are appropriately banked and any difference should be reported to your supervisor/senior internal control officer immediately.
  • Carry out regular third party AR verification and report your findings to your supervisor/senior internal control officer immediately.
  • Report wrong entries, any entry reversal and suspected fraudulent postings on the company’s software application (SAGE Pastel)
  • Review and ensure appropriate authorization of expense considering the necessity of the expense, quality and quantity of items to be purchased or service to be received, the fairness and integrity of the price and others prior to the acquisition.
  • In carrying out your duties effectively and efficiently you need to act at all times with due care and high level of integrity, honesty and loyalty to the company.




Requirements:

  • Must be responsible and well-mannered
  • 0 to 1 year experience in Sales is required.
  • Must have minimum qualification of BSC/HND in Accounting, Audit, Banking & Finance
  • Ability to read and write
  • Candidate must live around Kubwa or it's environs
