Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Strategy Development & Implementation:
- Develop and implement the commercial strategy in line with the company's goals and market trends.
- Identify new business opportunities and market segments to grow the customer base.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify growth areas, competitive positioning, and pricing strategies.
Business Development & Sales:
- Lead the sales and business development teams to meet revenue targets.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Drive proposal development, contract negotiations, and close high-value deals.
- Collaborate with operations to ensure customer satisfaction and seamless service delivery.
Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and nurture long-term client relationships to ensure customer retention and loyalty.
- Serve as the senior contact for key accounts, addressing escalated issues promptly.
- Collect and use client feedback to drive service improvements and innovation.
Revenue & Profitability Management:
- Take responsibility for commercial KPIs, including revenue growth, gross margin targets, and customer retention.
- Develop pricing models and contracts that maximize profitability while staying competitive.
- Analyze financial performance, budgets, and forecasts for the department.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial team to ensure high performance and growth.
- Set clear objectives, conduct performance reviews, and promote a results-driven culture.
- Encourage cross-departmental collaboration to align with broader company objectives.
Market & Competitor Analysis:
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and evolving customer needs.
- Provide strategic insights for product or service development and market positioning.
- Ensure the company remains competitive and adaptable to market changes.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all commercial activities are compliant with legal and regulatory standards.
- Manage risks related to contracts, client relationships, and market fluctuations.
- Collaborate with the legal department to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks in client agreements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.
- Experience: At least 5 years in a commercial role, with 2-3 years of managerial and sales leadership experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or supply chain.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the logistics and supply chain market, including trends, regulations, and technological advancements.
