Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Strategic Advisory and Planning:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their objectives and challenges.
- Develop comprehensive strategies that align with global development goals.
- Provide expert advice on policy formulation, program design, and implementation.
- Develop/communicate forward-thinking strategy aligned with business goals.
Social and Market Research and Data Analysis:
- Conduct rigorous social research studies, including impact assessments, needs assessments, and feasibility studies.
- Analyse complex data sets to derive actionable insights.
- Translate research findings into practical recommendations for clients.
Development Consulting and Program Management:
- Have excellent client-facing skills including document presentation (PowerPoint, etc.).
- Executive-level attire, superb spoken and written professional communication skills.
- Intelligent and analytical problem-solving skills under pressure, etc.
- Lead and oversee development projects across various sectors (health, education, environment, etc.).
- Ensure effective project planning, budget management, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress, evaluate outcomes, and adapt strategies as required.
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building:
- Cultivate strong relationships with international organizations, government agencies, NGOs, and local communities.
- Facilitate dialogue, manage expectations, and address stakeholder concerns.
- Champion inclusivity, diversity, and sustainable development practices
Team Leadership and Mentorship:
- Steer cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Mentor junior consultants and guide their professional growth.
- Uphold high standards of ethics, professionalism, and excellence.
Requirements:
- B.Sc. or higher in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Social Sciences, Economics, Public Policy)
- At least 10+ years of progressive experience in international development, preferably with exposure to multilateral organizations (e.g., World Bank, GIZ, IOM).
- Proven track record in managing complex projects and achieving measurable impact.
- Familiarity with development frameworks, sustainable development goals (SDGs), and global policy trends.
- Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., R, SAS, SQL) and visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor diverse teams and drive results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working in dynamic, cross-cultural environments.
