Job Summary

We are seeking to hire a Microfinance Project Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and managing microfinance programs that provide small loans and financial services to individuals, often in underserved communities. Key responsibilities include managing loan portfolios, developing strategic financial plans, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management and operations of microfinance programs, including loan distribution, repayment schedules, and portfolio performance.
  • Develop and implement strategic financial plans and projects aimed at supporting underserved communities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of microfinance initiatives to ensure sustainability, growth, and impact.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including community organizations, regulatory authorities, and financial partners.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and institutional guidelines for microfinance services.
  • Identify potential risks in the loan portfolio and implement strategies for risk mitigation and recovery.
  • Provide regular reports on program progress, loan performance, and financial outcomes to senior management and other relevant parties.
  • Train and supervise project staff to ensure efficient service delivery and effective loan management.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities for expanding microfinance services.
  • Oversee the development of policies and procedures for loan disbursement, client onboarding, and financial education.



Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in microfinance, project management, or a related financial services field.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of microfinance principles, loan management, and financial inclusion strategies.
  • Proven experience in managing loan portfolios and developing financial strategies for underserved communities.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to supervise staff and ensure effective program implementation.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating project performance and financial data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including community members, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks and compliance standards for microfinance operations.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
