The Preschool Manager/Directoress will oversee the day-to-day operations of the preschool, ensuring the provision of a high-quality, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily management of the preschool, ensuring the smooth operation of educational programs, activities, and administrative tasks.
  • Provide strong leadership to staff, fostering a collaborative, motivated, and professional working environment.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of children and staff.
  • Develop and implement an age-appropriate curriculum that aligns with the school's vision and educational standards.
  • Regularly review and update the curriculum to ensure it meets educational best practices and complies with relevant educational guidelines.
  • Plan and coordinate special programs and events that enhance children’s learning experiences.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate teaching and support staff.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and professional development programs to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Create a supportive and growth-oriented environment for staff, ensuring opportunities for feedback and mentorship.
  • Manage student enrollment, including conducting tours, answering inquiries, and interviewing prospective parents.
  • Foster positive relationships with parents, ensuring clear communication through regular newsletters, meetings, and school events.
  • Address and resolve concerns from parents professionally and promptly.
  • Ensure the preschool complies with local, state, and federal regulations, including licensing requirements and health and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and ensure that the environment is conducive to learning and is safe for all children and staff.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all children and staff in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the preschool's budget, ensuring responsible allocation of resources to maintain and improve school facilities and services.
  • Oversee fee collection and manage tuition-related administrative tasks.
  • Monitor expenditures, including staff salaries, supplies, and facility maintenance costs.
  • Provide a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive environment for the children, promoting their emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Ensure early identification of learning challenges or special needs, and facilitate access to appropriate resources or referrals.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with the local community, including networking with other schools, educational professionals, and agencies.
  • Represent the preschool at community events, networking opportunities, and other public engagements to promote the school’s image and mission.


Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Team management and staff development.
  • Budget management and financial planning.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership or administrative role.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education standards, curriculum development, and teaching methods.
  • Familiarity with local and national early childhood licensing and accreditation requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
