Project Control Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Collect human, machine and data information over a large number of areas
• Be able to do the unit price breakdown in relation to the highway field
• Preparation of bill of quantities with prices based on specific scope of work
• Be able to independently conduct site visits and preliminary measurement work
• Provide overall project cost, schedule, estimating, progress measurement, and change management leadership and expertise
• Manage Project Cost and Schedule throughout the project life cycle
• Fully understand the scope of the project, contractual requirements, identify the major milestones and set clear priorities for the project team
• Monitoring and appraising the performance of the Contractor(s) in the areas of cost control, progress measurement and control.
• Responsible for the preparation of tender documents
• Combined with cost experience, calculate the comprehensive unit price in BEME (or back-calculate the required personnel, material, and equipment requirements based on the determined comprehensive unit price)
• Liaise with various departments (e.g., marketing, project management, finance) to gather accurate information for bid preparation.
• Develop and maintain a database of past proposals, bids, and relevant documentation to streamline future bid processes.
• Analyze tender documents to understand client requirements and ensure compliance in all aspects of the bid.
• Carrying out feasibility studies.
• Cost control & cost benefit analysis
• Risk analysis evaluations.
• Facilitate bid strategy meetings to outline timelines, assign tasks, and set deadlines for team members involved in the bid process.
• Edit and proofread bid documents for accuracy, completeness, and clarity, ensuring they are of high quality and free of errors.
• Manage the bid submission process through the appropriate channels, ensuring all electronic and hard copy submissions are formatted correctly, complete, and delivered on time.
• Conduct post-bid reviews and feedback sessions with team members to identify areas for improvement and lessons learned for future bids.
• Site visits, assessments and projections for future work.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in; Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related area.
• Not less than 5 years’ experience in Civil engineering
• Experience in road or port construction is a must
• Site experience is compulsory

Remuneration: NGN 400,000 - 600,000
