Job Summary

The Modern Trade Sales Team Lead will be responsible for leading and managing the sales team within the modern trade channel (supermarkets, hypermarkets, e-commerce platforms, and large retail chains). This role involves driving sales performance, implementing effective strategies, and fostering strong relationships with key accounts. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and extensive experience in the consumer appliances, electronics, or FMCG sectors.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales representatives within the modern trade channel.
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide feedback, and training to enhance team performance.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and support team members in achieving their sales targets.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive growth in the modern trade segment.
  • Identify opportunities to expand market share by analyzing trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities.
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to ensure promotional campaigns and product launches are effectively executed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key modern trade accounts (e.g., hypermarkets, supermarkets, large e-commerce platforms).
  • Regularly meet with key accounts to monitor sales performance, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance to ensure targets are met.
  • Provide accurate forecasts and sales reports to management, highlighting opportunities and challenges.
  • Analyze market data, sales trends, and competitor activity to identify areas for growth and improvement.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including factory, marketing, and Account departments, to ensure product availability, efficient order fulfillment, and effective promotional activities.
  • Provide feedback to product development and marketing teams on customer preferences and market needs.
  • Continuously develop your team’s knowledge of products, industry trends, and selling techniques.
  • Ensure all team members are up-to-date with product knowledge, sales tools, and customer engagement strategies.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience in the consumer electronics, home appliance, or FMCG industries, with at least 2 years in managing key account sales.


Remuneration: NGN 200,000 - 300,000
