Job Summary

We are looking to hire a Senior Accountant.

  • Minimum Qualification : Degree
  • Experience Level : Executive level
  • Experience Length : 6 years

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to Head of Operations on a regular basis (frequently, weekly)
  • Bank and transaction reconciliation.
  • Preparing customer and Management reports
  • Compute tax and prepare tax returns (Filing of PAYE, WHT, and VAT where applicable.)
  • Prepare Budget and Forecast
  • Financial Modelling.
  • Reconcile account payable and receivables
  • Manage Balance sheet, cash flow, and profit and loss
  • Reports on the company’s financial health
  • Preparing monthly cashflow
  • Preparing year-end and statutory accounts
  • Documenting all financial transactions.
  • Performing variance analysis and identifying trends.
  • Payroll preparation
  • Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans
  • Develop trends and projections for the firm’s finances
  • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
  • Manage the preparation of the company’s budget.
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
  • Daily and month-end accounting to determine results, including P&L activity (management fees, fee splitting, gross-ups, reclasses), balance sheet activity (deferrals, accruals), and accounts-receivable cash application, in compliance with IFRS
  • Measure and track performance by comparing actual vs Expected.
  • Serve as an intermediary between the company and regulatory bodies.
  • Carry out any other task as assigned to you by the company
  • Any other task assigned to you




Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Chartered Accountant with experience from MFB or financial services. Communication skills, etc.
  • At least 5-6 years of experience in accounting, with years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
