Job Summary
Africa Critical Elements is an emerging player in the critical minerals sector, focusing on lithium production in Nigeria. Our strategy involves sourcing high-grade ore from artisanal open pit mining sites to supply our 120 tpd lithium spodumene flotation and ball mill processing plant in Nasarawa, Nigeria. We are seeking an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist to evaluate existing and open up new artisanal mining sites to ensure a consistent supply of high-grade lithium ore for our processing facility.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Conduct geological surveys (recon mapping, lithological surveys, trenching) and assessments of potential artisanal lithium mining sites
- Analyze geological data to identify high-potential areas for lithium deposits
- Perform high-level resource estimation and grade analysis of identified deposits
- Develop sampling strategies and oversee sample collection and analysis
- Prepare detailed geological reports and presentations for management
- Collaborate with the processing plant team to ensure ore quality meets the requirements
- Train and mentor junior geologists and field technicians
- Ensure compliance with local and national regulations regarding exploration activities
- Implement best practices for sustainable and responsible exploration
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in geological exploration, with a focus on lithium or other pegmatite minerals
- Strong understanding of pegmatite geology and lithium mineralization
- Proficiency in geological modeling software and GIS applications
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus
- Master's degree in Geology, Geosciences, or related field; Ph.D. preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Nigeria or West African geological settings
- Knowledge of sustainable mining practices and community engagement
- Experience in resource estimation and grade control
