Land Rig Crew Member

Responsibilities:

Equipment Operation:

• Operate drilling machinery and equipment, including the rig floor, draw works, mud pumps, and other related tools.
• Assist with the setup and teardown of rig equipment.
• Monitor and adjust drilling parameters to maintain optimal performance.

Maintenance and Repair:

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of drilling equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions as needed.
• Ensure all equipment complies with safety regulations and standards.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Participate in safety drills and meetings.
• Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately.

Drilling Operations:

• Assist with the drilling process, including rig up, drilling, and rig down operations.
• Handle and manage drilling fluids, including mixing and circulating.
• Perform tasks related to pipe handling, making connections, and running casing.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with other crew members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Communicate effectively with the Rig Manager and other team members regarding operations and any issues that arise.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of drilling operations, equipment status, and any incidents.
• Complete required reports and documentation as directed by the Rig Manager.

Requirements:

Experience:

• Previous experience working on a land rig is a must.
• Training in drilling operations or relevant certifications is a must.

Skills:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate and maintain various types of drilling equipment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in harsh and challenging environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and remote locations.
• Physical stamina to handle manual labor and long hours.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to pass a physical fitness test and drug screening.

Work Schedule:

• Typically, land rig crews work in rotational shifts, such as 14 days on followed by 14 days off, but schedules may vary based on project needs.
