Welding Technician

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications.
• Select appropriate welding techniques based on material and project requirements.
• Set up and operate welding equipment, ensuring proper settings for optimal weld quality.
• Perform various welding tasks, including butt welds, fillet welds, lap welds, and pipe welds.
• Ensure welds meet quality standards through visual inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) procedures (if applicable).
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all safety regulations and following proper lockout/tagout procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance on welding equipment.
• May assist with other metal fabrication tasks such as cutting, fitting, and grinding.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a welder in a fabrication or construction environment.
• Experience welding different types of metals commonly used in cold-chain infrastructure (e.g., steel, stainless steel).
• Strong understanding of welding safety procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret welding symbols.
• Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in welding for cold-chain infrastructure projects..
• Knowledge of different pipe joining methods (e.g., flanging, threading).
• Experience with working at heights.
