Job Summary

We are looking to hire a suitable candidate responsible for overseeing daily ops, managing teams, analyzing data for strategic decisions, & ensuring effective performance. You’ll need to plan timelines, manage project deliverables & clients. You’ll need excellent stakeholder mgt & comms skills. You'll represent our CEO on strategic engagements and translate those strategies into operations. Our ideal candidate is someone who is a doer. Someone who can translate ideas and plans into actions and outputs. You will understand how to nurture, motivate and empower people to deliver their best work. You will have a high bias for impact, and low tolerance for mediocrity. You are willing to get your hands dirty to get things done, yet you actively find ways to systemise and optimise operations. You're a systems thinker, and you proactively identify and mitigate risks or challenges that have the potential to impede progress. Most Importantly, you are deeply motivated by the opportunity to genuinely support businesses and people with growth.

Job Description/Requirements

Role Description

  • Working closely with our Founder / Managing Director, the Head of Operations will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing teams, analyzing data and making strategic decisions, and ensuring effective performance and cohesion within the organization. You’ll need to plan timelines, manage project deliverables and performance. You’ll also need to display excellent organisational skills, stakeholder management and communication skills. You'll actively work with and/or represent our Managing Director on strategic engagements, and translate those strategies into operational processes and structures in the company, to bring them to life. Responsibilities:

  • Primarily managing the team's effectiveness and delivery
  • Oversight on the timeliness and quality of the team's projects, deliverables and outputs
  • Manage onboarding, relationship & offboarding of clients and other relevant stakeholders
  • Proactively flagging and managing human resource capacity to meet the demand
  • Active performance management of projects and deliverables
  • Updating leadership with insights and management reports
  • Structuring and managing the team to deliver on budget and revenue goals
  • Creating and documenting systems and processes required to deliver on the company objectives
  • Actively pursuing opportunities to drive growth for the business
  • Ownership of driving team and resources to meet the budgetary, revenue and impact goals of the organisation
  • Tracking, monitoring and reporting of organisational and team performance across multiple dimensions


Requirements:

  • Operations Management, Team Management, and Communication skills
  • Analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Advanced technical skills are a plus.
  • Advanced ability to use analytics and/or Business Intelligence tools, as well automations tools is mandatory
  • Budgeting and financial management skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in a similar role or industry
  • Experience with Growth Marketing, Growth Engineering or Product Growth would be a DISTINCT advantage
  • Passion for African tech and a desire to help businesses grow is essential.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Master's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, Product Management, Technology or related field.
  • At least 4 years of Management experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience working with tech startups and/or businesses in a service capacity is a distinct advantage
