Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
- Cook food with various utensils or grillers
- Check food while cooking to stir or turn
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Check the quality of ingredients
- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent. A diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience as a cook, chef, or in a similar role within a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment.
- Proficient in preparing and cooking various dishes across different cuisines.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
- Strong ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
