Responsibilities:
- Meal Planning: Develop weekly menus that cater to tastes, dietary requirements, and nutritional goals. Incorporating preferences and ensuring variety in meals.
- Meal Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook meals according to the planned menu, using fresh, high-quality ingredients. Apply culinary techniques to create flavorful and visually appealing dishes that meet the household's standards.
- Serving: Serve meals in a timely and professional manner, ensuring presentation is impeccable. Ensuring meals are served at the desired temperature and plated neatly.
- Storage: Properly store leftover food items to maintain freshness and safety. Label and organize stored items in the refrigerator, freezer, and pantry for easy retrieval.
- Nutritional/Dietary Planning: Stay informed about nutritional guidelines and dietary trends. Accommodate any specific dietary requirements or restrictions of household members, such as allergies, intolerances, or special diets.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times. Adhere to food safety standards and regulations to ensure a hygienic cooking environment.
Requirements:
- The role is live-out and the candidate should ideally reside in the Ikeja, Magodo, Ogba, Ojodu-Berger area and be able to resume early
- Diploma, certification, or equivalent work experience in culinary arts or a related field.
- Previous experience working as a chef or cook in a household or commercial setting.
- Proficiency in preparing local Nigerian and continental dishes.
- Proficiency in meal planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Knowledge of nutritional principles and dietary requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a household environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing menus and dietary preferences.
